Matt serves as a broker, auctioneer specializing in commercial, residential, and special use properties across the Carolinas and Georgia. With a robust background serving private sellers and institutional clients, he has adeptly managed the disposition needs of the banking, trust, legal, and corporate sectors. His clientele includes banks, trustees, institutional receivers, and personal representatives of estate properties.

Since 2011, Matt has been a valued member of the South Carolina Auctioneers Commission, appointed by Governor Nikki Haley. He has held multiple leadership roles, including chair and vice chair, and is a past president of the South Carolina Auctioneers Association. As the founder and owner of Holiday Auctions, and former Broker in Charge of Holiday Auction & Realty, LLC, Matt has become the go-to professional benefit auctioneer and consultant for numerous 501(c)(3) organizations, private schools, and foundations nationwide. He developed the impactful workshop "Having a Successful Benefit Auction," which has helped many organizations elevate their fundraising efforts.

Matt is a graduate of the Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI) at Indiana University, where he received the distinguished “Rose Award.” In 2007, he was among the first auctioneers to earn the Benefit Auctioneer Specialist (BAS) designation. Under his leadership, Holiday Auctions received a national marketing award from the National Auctioneers Association (NAA) in 2008. A licensed auctioneer in good standing in both South Carolina and North Carolina, Matt has also been trained as an expert witness in federal court.

Beyond his professional commitments, Matt actively volunteers with organizations like Southeastern Children Home and served on the board of The Friends of the Guardian ad Litem. He is a former member of the City of Spartanburg’s Pedestrian and Bike Committee and coaches his son’s mountain bike team through NICA. In his leisure time, Matt enjoys golfing, swimming, and cycling with his children, and has participated in the Assault on Mount Mitchell. He takes great joy in spending quality time with his wife and two amazing kids.
