More Jobs Coming to Spartanburg
With this resurgence in downtown Spartanburg, jobs have also become more prevalent. The Spartanburg Economic Futures Group reports that the area has seen over 5,900 jobs created since 2009.

The county of Spartanburg has four new industrial projects that are either under construction or being designed. These projects are all being funded by private developers who are obviously bullish on Spartanburg commercial real estate. New Restaurants in Downtown Spartanburg
Spartanburg has seen a spike in new restaurants opening downtown thanks to the revitalization of commercial real estate in the area. Some of the restaurants that you should check out if you haven’t already include:
- The Speakeasy – The owner of Cribb’s Kitchen opened this bar as a throw back to the 1920s era. Sample cocktails from the Prohibition-era.
- Willy Taco – A new Mexican restaurant located on Main Street.
- Wild Ace Pizza and Pub – This is the company’s second location and is in Morgan Square (the first location is in Greer).
- Renato’s Italian Restaurant – This popular Italian restaurant is looking to relocate to a larger space in downtown Spartanburg.
- Dottie’s Toffee – This family owned confectioner recently moved into a renovated spot on Spring Street.

Residential Real Estate in Spartanburg
With the increase in available jobs through the relocation of companies as well as the resurgence of the downtown area, Spartanburg also has a few residential real estate projects underway.
- Magnolia Street Lofts – Is a beautiful renovation of the old Oregon Hotel, which has been transformed into 27 residential units.
- Schuyler Building Apartments – This 88 unit apartment complex is currently undergoing extensive renovations.
- 314 South Townhomes – This is a new townhome development that is under construction close to the Mary Black Rail Trail.
