Since 2011, Matt has been an integral member of the South Carolina Auctioneers Commission, thanks to an appointment by Governor Nikki Haley. His leadership roles within the commission and his past presidency of the South Carolina Auctioneers Association underscore his dedication to the field. Beyond his success in brokerage, Matt is the founder and owner of Holiday Auctions. He is widely recognized as a leading benefit auctioneer and consultant for numerous 501(c)(3) organizations, private schools, and foundations nationwide.

Matt’s educational credentials are as impressive as his professional achievements. He is a graduate of the Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI) at Indiana University, where he was honored with the prestigious “Rose Award.” In 2007, he was among the first to earn the Benefit Auctioneer Specialist (BAS) designation. Under his guidance, Holiday Auctions received a national marketing award from the National Auctioneers Association (NAA) in 2008. Additionally, his training as an expert witness in federal court further enhances his credibility and expertise.

Personal Interests

Matt’s commitment to community service is evident in his volunteer work. Organizations like Southeastern Children’s Home and his board membership with The Friends of the Guardian ad Litem. He also contributed to the City of Spartanburg’s Pedestrian and Bike Committee and coaches his son’s mountain bike team through NICA.

When he’s not busy with real estate or volunteering, Matt enjoys spending quality time with his family. An avid golfer, swimmer, and cyclist, he has even participated in the challenging Assault on Mount Mitchell. His passion for these activities allows him to enjoy the outdoors while spending time with his wife and two children.
